Theory tests celebration party
Broken glass, lots of dirty dishes, a broken window and a ruined carpet: this is what I saw when I arrived home yesterday. My daughter had just passed her
theory tests and decided to invite some friends over and celebrate it. Actually, she made the party only because there was an excuse to make one, and because I was far away. She didn"t expect me to come back home so early in the morning. All of her friends were gone and she was asleep in her clothes on the coach. I woke her up immediately and asked her what had happened in this house. She looked really embarrassed and I was very angry. I told her to get up at once and start cleaning up. She did so without a word. After a quarter or so I became more relaxed. I just wanted to make the house look normal again. After all, it was the day she finally passed her theory tests. I remembered when I was seventeen, I once invited friends over when my parents were away. They came back unexpectedly at 10 p.m., and my heart nearly stopped. I couldn"t see my friends for three months as a punishment! Of course, these kinds of punishment are stupid and I"m not going to make my daughter suffer that much. Perhaps I"m too lenient, but at least I get on well with my daughter. Next time she wants to make a party, she has to tell me about it!
